Andrew Martin

As a journalism student, Andrew S. Martin wanted to hold the powerful accountable. Now as a personal injury lawyer, he’s proud to champion for his clients.

“You’re meeting people at some of their most vulnerable states. They’re relying on you to guide them through a sticky situation, to put their lives back together, to get them money to make up for whatever deficits this injury might have presented,” he said, noting he feels honored to be “walking alongside them, being a friend and being a guide, as they go through a daunting, complex and challenging problem.”

A native of Beverly, Ohio, Andrew is one of four children. He majored in journalism at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., where he met his future wife, Melissa. Andrew became the editor of the sports section for the college newspaper, The Liberty Champion, and he and Melissa married after graduation in 2004.

“I still am a news hog,” he said. “Who’s there holding the powerful accountable? Who’s there exposing specific wrongs?”

The couple moved to St. Louis, Missouri, to be closer to Melissa’s family, and Andrew did copywriting and marketing work before his aptitude for learning and competition led him toward law school at St. Louis University School of Law. Pairing with a mentor through the Christian Legal Society convinced him he was on the right path. He obtained his law degree in 2009, graduating near the top of his class.

As a lawyer, Andrew practices with compassion and conviction. He cares about his clients on a personal level. He works to solve problems and recover fair compensation for those who have been injured through no fault of their own.

Andrew is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Missouri, and Virginia, having established the Andrew S. Martin Law Firm in Lynchburg in 2019. He and his family relocated to the area
because of how much he and his wife had enjoyed living here while in college. “We love the area. We love the people. We always hoped we could come back someday,” he said.

The rating service Super Lawyers first named Andrew a “Rising Star” in 2014 for his peer reviews and professional achievements. He has also received recognition from The National Law Journal for earning one of the Top 100 Verdicts of 2013. Andrew is also a member of the American Association for Justice, which promotes a fair and effective justice system.

He has obtained more than $30 million in verdicts and settlements for his clients. But more than the monetary results, Andrew values the impact he is able to have on people’s lives.

When not in court, Andrew enjoys spending time with his children, playing golf, hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway, and traveling. He is actively involved in his church, Matthias’ Lot Church in St. Charles, and thinks the world of The Sparrow’s Nest, a charity that provides housing to pregnant and parenting teens.
